The Mind - Body Engine

We are Gym Instructors & Wellness Coaches based in Portumna, Co. Galway in Ireland. The Mind-Body Engine was founded in 2020 as an online business as a transition from The Engine Room Fitness & Wellbeing Centre which had been operating as a bricks & mortar gym for over seven years. We continue to support & guide clients of all levels to achieve their health & fitness goals while taking a holistic approach.

Our coaching approach is tailored as per the client. We believe in results that are sustainable to enable you form healthy lifestyle habits that you can keep forever. Like most businesses & individuals we have had to diversify & adapt due to the pandemic & indeed our own life events.

So we understand all too well the importance of trying to stay fit & healthy despite the demands of family, life & work. So for 2025, we will offer a mix of online & face to face options for you to work with us.

Sarah has her early morning WALKFIT. A 15mins online walk sequence to music at 6.30am to offer ladies an opportunity to wake up & start their day wirh a movememt burst. Then at 7.30am Sarah’s LIIT for Ladies tribe who work exclusively online each morning, getting their 20-minute low-impact exercise done to start their day. Sarah also runs Forest Bathing Walk experiences monthly in Portumna Forest Park & also has a small group of ladies starting a Couch to 5K programme this month.

Steve has opened a recovery room in Portumna in 2023 called Optimal Recovery, where you can rest & recover or avail of as Holistic Massage, Ear Candling, Cupping, Physiotherapy & Reflexology from a range of fantastic Therapists.

Steve also holds space for his one-to-one & small group Personal Training, Spin & Tone classes, HIIT workout & Kettlebell classes. 

We love working with individuals who are ready for change & want to experience & grow their mindset, explore possibilities & feel good about themselves

Sarah is a fabulous trainer, just the right combination of push and encouragement and also very adaptive for our individual needs. Her infectious optimism make exercise fun. Had a fabulous morning on Sarah's recent Forest Bathing outing . No better way to spend a Spring morning, calmess , meditation, relaxation. A lovely bunch of ladies & Sarah's enthusiasm & knowledge rubs off on all around her. Thanks so much Sarah ❤

Highly recommend Sarah’s prime program for midlife women. Just 20 minutes in your own home, (first thing in the morning works best for me), leaves you energised for the day ahead.
